Folks,
The problem that seems to afflict every work-bound LJ user sooner or later has hit the City of Village Charm: my journal has suddenly become popular viewing at work.
Consequently, I'm going to go off the grid for a little while. I've locked all my previous posts, and when I do start posting again, sometime in the future, it will be friends only. I know there are a number of people out there who read my journal but who don't have livejournals of their own, and that kind of sucks, but that's the way it has to be, at least for the forseeable future.

Courage,
Dan Rather

p.s.
The journal still rages on, but is friends only. If you would like to be added, or if you would like to read the thing I wrote about Lance Hahn, leave a comment.

Tom--

Get on the grid right away! It's easy to make your journal friends only if you've locked all early entries!

I have come to depend on my friends for entertainment nearly as much as I depend on books, music, and movies! YOU HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY TO ENTERTAIN US, DAMMIT!

Wow--that was meant to be an "earnest plea". Don't leave us, O Villagecharm. Don't leave us!

Being that I live in the City of Village Charm as well, I would like to enlist your assistance in locating the babbling brook portrayed on the wooden sign at the end of the ramp leading towards Buckland Hills Metropolis. I personally have never seen it and feel that mayhaps it does not exist. Totally nothing to do with your posting, but I felt it somewhat applicable since we both reside in the silk city.

but I added you as a friend. My name is Sara, and I live in Manchester. One question - half man half biscuit - do you mean the UK band who released "This Leaden Pall"?

Heya! I fear this may cause me unnecessary harm, but would you consider adding me to your friends list? Hazmat tells me I should read your posts. I must admit, though, that it seems unfair that I should discover how entertaining you are right before you leave us! Still, I'm willing to face the inevitable anguish this will cause me.

looks like half my friends list recommends you, so I'm going to heed them.. I write a LOT so if you want to opt out of me, I won't be offended-- but hope you will (or rather, won't-- opt out that is. whatever).

Yet another person coming over from the [livejournal.com profile] atthesametime crew. Sean should start getting a 5% commission. But someone recently noted that if you produced a radio show, it would be as compelling as This American Life -- how can I resist that?!?

Greetings.

Non-judgmental person here seeking to be added to your f-list. Am seeking intelligent people with (sometimes) interesting things to say to my f-list.

I recall reading your blog about a year ago before I made a purge to my f-list for similar reasons to your own. I'm now coming back out of my hermitage to test the waters again.
